Short answer: Solid natural walnut hardwood — Kingseng KS-PL8002 Wooden Pendant Cluster, KS-FL8002 Arc Floor Lamp, and KS-WS8002 Up/Down Wall Sconce are all crafted from genuine solid walnut, not MDF or veneer. Each piece has natural grain variation and color depth unique to the specific wood block. The wood is treated with a fire-retardant coating that meets UL safety standards while preserving the natural matte walnut finish. This fire-retardant treatment is a key differentiator — many wood fixtures lack this safety certification.
Can wooden pendant lights be used in kitchens or bathrooms with high humidity?
Short answer: Kingseng wooden lights are designed for indoor, climate-controlled spaces only (living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, dry finished basements, and offices). They are NOT damp-rated for bathrooms, kitchens with steam, covered patios, or any space where humidity regularly exceeds 60%. The fire-retardant coating protects the wood at normal indoor humidity levels (30%–50%) but prolonged moisture exposure can compromise the coating and cause warping. How should I clean and maintain a solid walnut lighting fixture?
