IBC 803.5: Interior Finish Flame Spread

IBC 803.5 governs interior finish materials in commercial buildings. Kingseng wood fixtures undergo ASTM E84 (Steiner Tunnel) testing with a Class A flame spread index < 25 in most species, and Class B (FSI < 75) for oiled finishes. Test reports available upon request for plan submittals.

Occupancy Compliance (IBC Table 803.13)

Group A (Assembly): Class A required on exit pathways, Class B permitted elsewhere.
Group B (Business): Class B permitted throughout.
Group E (Educational): Class A required unless sprinklered, then Class B.
Group M (Mercantile): Class B permitted with sprinklers.
Group R-1 (Hotels): Class B permitted for ceiling finishes.

ASCE 7-16: Seismic and Wind Load

CPSIA: Children’s Product Safety

For educational (Group E) and childcare facilities, Kingseng wood fixtures comply with CPSIA lead content limits (100 ppm for substrate, 90 ppm for paint/surface coatings) per 16 CFR Part 1303. All finishes tested to ASTM F963-23 for heavy metals and phthalate content.

NFPA 13: Sprinkler Clearance

NFPA 13 Section 8.6.5 requires 18 inches clearance between sprinkler deflectors and obstructions. Kingseng pendants under 18″ drop use a recessed canopy design that preserves sidewall sprinkler throw patterns. For pendants exceeding 18″ drop, a sprinkler head extension or pendant-integrated escutcheon can be specified.
