Spanish Alabaster Collection

Hand-carved from authentic Spanish quarried alabaster. Each Kingseng KS-APL and KS-AWS fixture is one of a kind — natural stone veining ensures no two pieces are identical. Warm, translucent glow for luxury residential projects.

Why Spanish Alabaster?

Genuine Spanish alabaster is the gold standard in natural stone lighting. Unlike resin imitations or pressed glass, real alabaster has a unique crystalline structure that diffuses light into a soft, warm glow — no harsh LED hotspots, no cold commercial feel. Each slab is hand-selected from quarries in Spain, then carved by skilled artisans into shades that reveal the stone’s natural veining, color variations, and translucent depth.

Alabaster vs. alternatives:

  • vs. Resin imitation: Resin fakes have uniform, plastic-like surfaces. Real alabaster has unpredictable veining and a cool-to-touch feel that signals authenticity.
  • vs. Frosted glass: Glass scatters light evenly but lacks depth. Alabaster’s crystalline layers create a three-dimensional glow that changes subtly with viewing angle.
  • vs. Marble/onyx: Marble is opaque. Onyx often requires backlighting. Alabaster is naturally translucent — it glows with standard household bulbs, no special installation needed.

Room-by-Room Alabaster Lighting

Kitchen

The KS-APL03 12″ or KS-APL02 10″ pendants over a kitchen island create a warm, inviting focal point. Alabaster’s diffuse glow eliminates harsh shadows on food prep surfaces. IP44 damp-rating means steam and cooking moisture won’t damage the stone. Hang 2-3 pendants spaced 24-30″ apart over a standard 6-8 foot island.

Bathroom

Flank a vanity mirror with KS-AWS03 wall sconces at eye level for flattering, shadow-free facial illumination — alabaster’s warm light is universally more forgiving than cool LED mirrors. Or suspend a KS-APL01 8″ mini pendant over a freestanding tub for spa-like ambiance. All models are IP44 damp-rated for bathroom safety.

Dining Room

The KS-APL05 Multi-Light is a showstopper over a 6-8 seat dining table. Five G9 sockets spread warm alabaster glow evenly across the table surface — no single bright spot, no dark corners. For square or round tables seating 4, the KS-APL04 14″ single hanging stone provides the same luxury in a more compact footprint.

Entryway / Foyer

First impressions matter — a single KS-APL04 14″ or KS-APL02 10″ alabaster pendant in the entryway signals quiet luxury before guests take off their coats. The warm stone glow is far more welcoming than a standard flush-mount ceiling light. For double-height foyers, the KS-APL05 Multi-Light fills vertical space with sculptural presence.

Living Room

Layer alabaster lighting for maximum effect: KS-AWS05 wall sconces flanking a fireplace or artwork, KS-APL03 12″ pendant as a reading corner accent, or a cluster of KS-APL01 8″ mini pendants at staggered heights for a contemporary chandelier alternative.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Spanish alabaster fragile? Will it break during shipping?

Alabaster is a natural stone — harder than drywall but softer than granite. At ~2-3 on the Mohs hardness scale, it resists everyday handling but can chip if dropped. Kingseng ships alabaster pendants in custom-cut foam inserts within reinforced double-wall cartons. Our breakage rate is below 0.3% — and every shipment is insured. For destination markets with rough last-mile delivery (certain regions in Africa, Southeast Asia), we recommend air freight over sea freight to minimize transit handling.

How do I clean and maintain alabaster lights?

Dust with a soft microfiber cloth or feather duster. For deeper cleaning, use a barely damp cloth with plain water — never chemical cleaners, vinegar, or abrasive sponges, which can etch the stone surface. Alabaster is naturally stain-resistant but not stain-proof; wipe spills immediately. The stone does not yellow or fade with age — 100-year-old alabaster pendants in European chandeliers look as warm as day one.

Can I use LED bulbs with alabaster pendants?

Yes — and we recommend it. Warm-white LED bulbs (2700K-3000K) in G9 or E12 base bring out alabaster’s natural warmth best. Cool-white LEDs (4000K+) can make the stone look grayish. For the KS-APL05 Multi-Light, use identical LED bulbs across all five sockets for even color. Dimmer-compatible LEDs let you adjust from bright task lighting to intimate dinner ambiance.

Are Kingseng alabaster lights UL listed for North America?

All Kingseng alabaster fixtures are ETL certified (Intertek) — the North American equivalent of UL listing, accepted by all U.S. and Canadian electrical inspectors. They also carry CE and RoHS certifications for EU markets. If your project specifically requires UL (not ETL), contact us — we can arrange UL field certification for bulk orders.

What’s the difference between KS-APL and KS-AWS series?

KS-APL = Alabaster Pendant Lights — ceiling-mounted hanging fixtures in 5 sizes (8″ to multi-light). KS-AWS = Alabaster Wall Sconces — wall-mounted fixtures in 2 styles. Both series use the same Spanish quarried alabaster and share the brass/gold frame finish options and IP44 damp rating. Many designers mix APL pendants and AWS sconces in the same room for cohesive natural stone lighting throughout.

How do I specify socket type (G9 vs E12 vs E14)?

Note your preferred socket in the order comments. G9 is our default and most common for North America — compact bi-pin base, widely available in LED. E12 (candelabra) suits traditional/chandelier-style bulbs. E14 is standard for EU/UK/AU markets. If you’re unsure, our sales team will recommend based on your destination country. Socket changes do not affect pricing.

Can I order a custom alabaster shape or size?

Yes — Kingseng offers OEM/ODM alabaster customization for orders of 200+ units per design. We work from your CAD drawings, reference images, or physical samples. Custom shapes (hexagonal, cylindrical, dome, beveled edge) typically add 10-15 days to sample lead time. Minimum order 200 units per custom design. Contact us with your specifications for a custom quote.

Are these suitable for outdoor covered areas?

Yes — IP44 damp rating means all KS-APL and KS-AWS fixtures can be installed in covered outdoor areas: porches, pergolas, covered patios, and gazebos. They are NOT rated for direct rain exposure (IP65 required for that). For truly outdoor alabaster applications, contact us about custom IP65 sealing for bulk orders. The warm alabaster glow is especially striking at dusk against natural wood or stone outdoor architecture.
